The Jumbo Shrimp would weather the storm and regain the lead off of a CF JJ Bleday solo home run. The team kept things rolling in the fifth thanks to a Fortes RBI double for the 5-3 advantage. Jacksonville was able to stretch the lead back to three runs at 6-3 thanks to an RBI single from 3B Willians Astudillo in his team debut. He also connected on a solo home run in the ninth inning to make the score 7-3. DH Lorenzo Quintana used a sac fly RBI as an insurance run to go up 8-3.
