Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Jared Karros dominated over five near-perfect innings, as the Quakes ran their second-half winning streak to four straight, thanks to a 5-1 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Wednesday night at LoanMart Field.

Jesus Galiz had three hits and three RBIs to back Karros’ gem, as the Quakes improved to 4-0 in the second half.

Karros (2-2) allowed just one infield hit over five scoreless innings, facing one over the minimum while striking out three.

Trailing 2-0 in the seventh, the Rawhide got on the board and had two in scoring position with two outs, but David Tiburcio got the final out of the inning, setting the stage for a big inning to put the game away.

Rancho scored three times in the last of the eighth to take a 5-1 lead, as Galiz capped the inning with a two-run single.

Joel Ibarra pitched around back-to-back walks to open the ninth, striking out the next three hitters to wrap it up.

Visalia starter Jacob Steinmetz (0-6) pitched well in defeat, allowing two runs (one earned) over five innings.
