Kent and Tendler lead the way, 'Dogs win 6-0 over 'Cats

Manchester, N.H. - Matt Kent (10-8) tied a season-high with eight strikeouts, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (56-72) to a 6-0 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (71-56) on Thursday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Kent scattered seven hits, no walks, and became the first Sea Dog this season to win three straight starts.
New Hampshire's Jon Harris (10-5) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits over five innings pitched.
The Sea Dogs struck first against Harris. With two outs in the first inning, Luke Tendler (2-for-5) laced an RBI single to score Jeremy Rivera (3-for-5). 
Portland continued their two-out theme in the fourth inning. Danny Mars (2-for-3, BB) started the rally with a single and scored on the double by Deiner Lopez (2-for-4). Lopez went 5-for-7, 3 RBI and four doubles in the series.
In the fifth inning, Tendler connected on a 3-2 pitch with two outs for a two-run homer, giving the 'Dogs a 4-0 advantage.
The very next frame, Danny Mars walked with one out, stole second base, and scored on a single from Rivera. Chad La Guerra nailed a double off the left-field wall to increase Portland's lead to 6-0.
Trevor Kelley wrapped up the win for Portland, working two scoreless. Portland had 12 hits in the win and finished the season 5-7 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Sea Dogs open up a three-game series with the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) on Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium. Lefty Kyle Hart (7-9, 3.62) takes on RHP Ranfi Casimiro (5-3, 3.97). Radio coverage begins at 7:00 PM on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network. MiLB.TV starts at 7:10 PM.
