LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Lugnuts and CMN Hospitals, University of Michigan Health-Sparrow are joining to present Kids Night on Saturday, May 18th, at Jackson® Field™, with kids taking over the ballpark for the Lugnuts’ 7:05 p.m. game against the Lake County Captains.
“The Lansing Lugnuts are thrilled to welcome children from UM Health-Sparrow to the ballpark,” said Lugnuts Marketing and Fan Engagement Manager Amanda Rich. “The responses have been incredibly rewarding to be able to provide a once in a lifetime experience for these kids who miss out on being a kid. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate Kids Night with UM Health-Sparrow.”
UM Health-Sparrow Children will take part in the MiLB TV broadcast, interview a Lugnut on field during pre-game, throw out the first pitch, announce the players over the P.A. system, and assist the grounds crew and the Pit Crew – all the while the Lugnuts will be wearing a uniform designed by 16-year-old Gunter. The game-worn uniforms will be auctioned off to benefit the Child Life Charity.
In addition, Zap Zone, Graze Craze and balloon-twisting will be present along the concourse, as well as representation from Ronald McDonald House Charities Mid-Michigan and Ele’s Place.
To cap off the night, kids are invited to run the bases following the game’s conclusion.
Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at the Jackson® Field™ box office, available for purchase at (517) 485-4500 or online at milb.com/lansing.
