Knight Called Up To South Bend
The Chicago Cubs have promoted catcher Caleb Knight from the Eugene Emeralds (A-Short) to the South Bend Cubs (A-Full) in a roster move finalized on Thursday.

Currently in his second professional season after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia in 2018, Knight has spent the entire 2019 season with the Emeralds thus far, posting a .253/.362/.354 slash line with a .716 OPS while tallying 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, and 11 RBIs in 32 games played.
Knight has been the go-to catcher for the Emeralds who have spent much of the season carrying as many as four catchers on the active roster.
The former Virginia Cavalier started his pro career in Arizona with the Rookie-level AZL Cubs 1 team before being promoted to Eugene where he played in 44 regular season games while helping guide the Ems to the 2018 Northwest League title, the team's second championship in three seasons.
