Knights Announce Five More Moves Friday

DURHAM, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights have announced a total of six roster moves today ahead of the team's 6:35 p.m. game against the Durham Bulls from Durham, NC. Earlier in the day, RHP Declan Cronin was promoted to the Chicago White Sox.

Earlier in the day, RHP Declan Cronin was promoted to the Chicago White Sox.

C Xavier Fernández was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham today. In 63 games with the Barons this season, Fernández is hitting .284 (63-for-222) with 29 runs scored, 18 doubles, 10 home runs and 41 RBI. He appeared in 49 games with the Knights last season and hit .238 (40-for-168) with 22 runs scored, 12 doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI.

C Adam Hackenberg was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham today. Hackenberg, 23, entered the 2023 season ranked by Baseball America as the number 30 prospect in Chicago’s system. A non-roster invitee to White Sox Spring Training, Hackenberg has appeared in 66 games with the Barons this season and is hitting .276 (63-for-228) with 38 runs scored, 10 doubles, five home runs, 25 RBI and two stolen bases.

C Iván González was assigned to Double-A Birmingham today. He was promoted to the Charlotte from High-A Winston-Salem Dash on July 20 and did not appear in a game with the Knights. Originally selected by the Chicago White Sox in the eighth round of the June 2019 First-Year Player Draft, González has appeared in 31 games with the Dash this season and hit .260 (26-for-100) with 12 runs scored, two doubles, one triple, nine RBI and two stolen bases.

LHP Haylen Green was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham today. This season with the Barons, Green is 0-0 with four saves and a 5.03 ERA in 17 games (19.2 innings pitched). The 25-year-old has also made 11 appearances this season for High-A Winston-Salem. He posted a 2-1 record with a 4.91 ERA in 13 games with the Dash (14.2 innings pitched). He was drafted by the White Sox in the 20th round of the June 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of TCU.

RHP Nick Padilla was placed on Charlotte's Injured List today. In 32 games with the Knights this season out of the team’s bullpen, Padilla has posted a 2-1 record with four saves and a 5.67 ERA over 33.1 IP (38 strikeouts).
