With the start of the 2021 season approaching, a lot has changed since the Bulls last played in September 2019. That includes a new league and division structure across the minor leagues. Each week in the leadup to the season, we'll educate you on each Southeast Division opponent the Bulls are scheduled to play.

Bulls fans have seen and heard plenty from the Charlotte Knights over the years. The Bulls have won plenty of games in the process as well. Over the last ten seasons dating back through the 2010 campaign, Durham owns a 129-107 overall record versus Charlotte, including a 14-13 mark in 2019, which featured a three-game sweep in the final season series between the two clubs.

The Knights have been the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox since 1999, and have played at Truist Field in downtown Charlotte since 2014. Before that, the squad played at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, South Carolina. In 2015, the Knights installed a "home run dragon" behind the outfield wall that seems oddly familiar to another large animal that has been behind an outfield wall at Durham Bulls Athletic Park for many years...

The Knights have played at the Triple-A level since 1993, winning two league titles in that span, their most recent coming in 1999. Meanwhile, since Charlotte last won a league title in 1999, the Bulls have won six league championships and 12 division crowns, compared to two division titles for the Knights in that same time period.

Durham and Charlotte will see even more of each other in 2021, as they are scheduled to square off 30 times over the course of the season. That includes six-game series at Durham Bulls Athletic Park between May 18-23, June 8-13 and July 20-25. The Bulls are set to play in Charlotte between August 24-29 and September 14-19, Durham's final series of 2021.

Tickets are now available for Durham's first series versus Charlotte at the DBAP between May 18-23. Individual tickets for all May home games can be purchased by clicking here. For more information on 2021 tickets, please click here.
