With the start of the 2021 season approaching, a lot has changed since the Bulls last played in September 2019. That includes a new league and division structure across the minor leagues. Each week in the leadup to the season, we'll educate you on each Southeast Division opponent the Bulls are scheduled to play.

The Gwinnett Stripers are one of several teams in the Southeast Division that Bulls fans already know.

Previously known as the Gwinnett Braves, the club has been the Triple-A affiliate of the nearby Atlanta Braves since 2009 after moving to Gwinnett County from Richmond, Virginia. Their home ballpark, Coolray Field is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in Gwinnett County, approximately 35 miles northeast of Truist Field in Cobb County.

Since 2009, the Stripers have posted a 781-786 regular season record (.498) and reached the postseason on three occasions, winning as many league championships in that time period as the Cleveland Browns. The Bulls, meanwhile, own the all-time series versus the Stripers 140-119 dating back through the 2009 season, and have only lost a season series once in that span.

That includes a 14-13 mark against Gwinnett over the course of the 2019 season, along with an 8-7 clip at the DBAP. That includes a memorable victory in the final series of the 2019 season capped by Michael Perez's walk-off single, which kept Durham's playoff hopes alive and proved crucial to the Bulls snagging the Wild Card spot.

Durham is slated to face Gwinnett 12 times over the course of the 2021 campaign, including a six-game series at Durham Bulls Athletic Park between June 29 through July 4. The Bulls' lone road series against the Stripers is scheduled to last from August 10-15.

Tickets for Bulls home games this year will be available on a month-by-month basis with an exclusive window for 919 Club Members and ticket package holders. More information regarding Bulls tickets for the 2021 season can be found by clicking here.
