Kyle Cody Honored as MLB Pipeline's Top Rangers Pitching Prospect in 2017

Cody, 22, finished his year at the Advanced-A level after opening with 18 starts at Low-A Hickory. In 23 total starts, he collected a 9-6 record and 2.64 ERA between the levels. Solely with the Woodies, the righty was 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA in five starts - four of them quality starts.
A native of Chippewa Falls, WI, Cody found a clicking point on June 11th - his final start of the first half with Hickory against the Lexington Legends. In that game, he went eight shutout innings while only allowing one hit and one walk.
Starting with that impressive outing, Cody went 8-0 over his last 13 starts of the year with a 1.68 ERA - the second-best mark at the combined-A level across MILB. He also had the fifth-best opponent's average (.187), sixth-best strikeout total (97), and ninth-best WHIP (0.98) over the conclusion of his season.
Within the Rangers organization, Cody led all prospects in opponent's average at .219. He was also in the top-five in strikeouts (2nd, 136), WHIP (2nd, 1.15), wins (T-2nd, 9), and innings pitched (4th, 126).
