In his lone start of the week on May 13 vs. Frisco, Lloyd became the first San Antonio hurler to throw a complete-game no-hitter since Rick Goulding (July 4, 1979 vs. Amarillo) as the Missions blanked the RoughRiders 2-0 before a sellout Wolff Stadium crowd of 6,364.
Lloyd walked just one on the night and needed just 94 pitches (68 of them strikes) to seal the no-no. It was the first Missions no-hitter in the Wolff era and the first of any kind for the club since July 30, 2014 when
The 26-year-old has been sensational over three May starts, going 2-0 with a minuscule 0.83 ERA and has held opposing hitters to a .182 AVG (14-for-77) across 21.2 innings. For the month, Lloyd leads the league in innings and is tied for the lead in wins, while also ranking 4th in ERA, 7th in WHIP (0.88) and 8th in OPP AVG.
San Diego selected Lloyd in the 29th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Evansville.
San Antonio, winners of 12 of its last 14 games, continues its eight-game homestand Tuesday night at 7:05 PM with the second of four against Corpus Christi (17-20). The Missions (22-15) enter tonight's tilt with a two-game lead atop the South Division first-half standings.
