LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Minor League Baseball announced today the Player and Pitcher of the Month Award winners for June. Gwinnett Stripers left-hander Kyle Muller was named the International League Pitcher of the Month for June.
Muller, 24, went 2-1 with a 1.87 ERA (7 ER in 33.2 IP), 0.77 WHIP, .171 BAA, and 43 strikeouts over five starts during the month, all quality outings. He ranked among IL leaders for June in ERA (1st), strikeouts (1st), innings (1st), BAA (1st), WHIP (2nd), and starts (T-4th).
In his second year with Gwinnett, Muller is 4-5 with a 2.99 ERA (27 ER in 81.1 IP) in 14 starts. He ranks among IL leaders for the full season in strikeouts (1st, 102), ERA (2nd), WHIP (2nd, 1.09), BAA (3rd, .216), innings (T-3rd), and starts (T-5th).
Muller is currently ranked the Braves’ No. 2 prospect by MLB.com. Since being selected by Atlanta in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Jesuit College Prep High School (Dallas, Texas), he has combined to go 29-19 with a 3.08 ERA in 99 MiLB games and 2-5 with a 5.49 ERA in 10 Major League games with the Braves.
