Lambert Named June Player of the Month
Portland, ME - The Eastern League is pleased to announce Hartford Yard Goats right-handed starting pitcher Peter Lambert has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Month for the month of June.

Lambert made five starts for the Yard Goats during the month of June and had a record of 5-0 with 32 strikeouts and a 1.16 ERA over 38.2 innings of work. The 21-year old pitched at least seven innings and gave up one earned run or less in all five of his starts during the month, including tossing a nine inning complete game in an 11-1 win over the visiting Altoona Curve on June 2nd. Lambert gave up one run on four hits with four strikeouts and one walk in that start while becoming the first pitcher in Yard Goats franchise history to throw a nine-inning complete game. He also contributed at the plate in the win, adding an RBI double.
The 6'2", 185 lb. slugger led all Eastern League pitchers in wins (5), WHIP (0.70), and innings pitched (38.2) during the month of June. He also finished ranked among the monthly league leaders in complete games (1-tied 3rd), ERA (1.16-4th), batting average against (.180-4th), and strikeouts (32-tied 4th).
Lambert, who is a native of San Dimas, California, was awarded for his performance in Hartford with a promotion to Triple-A Albuquerque on June 30th. He made 15 starts for the Yard Goats prior to his promotion and had a record of 8-2 with 75 strikeouts and a 2.23 ERA. Lambert currently leads the league in ERA (2.23) and WHIP (0.99) and is tied for second in wins (8). He was also named to the Eastern Division roster for the upcoming Eastern League All-Star Game.
Peter, who is currently rated by MLB.com as the third best prospect in the Colorado organization, was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the 2015 draft out of San Dimas High School in California.
