MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (May 23, 2018) - Behind six brilliant innings from Alex Lange on Wednesday night, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans shut out the Lynchburg Hillcats 5-0 from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
Lange (2-2) earned the win by only scattering six hits for Myrtle Beach (19-27) and striking out a career-high 10 batters without walking a batter. Ryan Kellogg finished out the game by retiring all nine batters he faced over three innings with one strikeout to pocket his first save of the season.

The offense provided Lange with more than enough support. Connor Myers plated the game's first run in the second with a sacrifice fly before Tyler Alamo made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly of his own in the sixth inning.
Kevonte Mitchell led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run and Jhonny Pereda laced a two-run single later in the inning to give the Pelicans their 5-0 lead.
Sam Hentges (3-3) allowed two runs over six inning in the loss for the Hillcats (23-20).
