Cerca de 14 mil aficionados vibraron este miércoles en el Parque Kukulcán Alamo con la victoria melenuda que forzó el séptimo y decisivo juego de la Serie del Rey.
Y gran crédito se lo llevó el dominicano Carlos Frías quien entró a relevar al abridor José Samayoa para maniatar a la artillería regia, en una sensacional labor de 4.1 innings donde no aceptó carreras y ponchó a un enemigo, suficiente para embolsarse el triunfo. Chan Gaudin se encargó de los últimos dos episodios sin contratiempos y logró el salvamento.
"Gracias a Dios Carlos Frías mantuvo el juego en la línea y nuestra ofensiva respondió, esperamos mañana (jueves) seguir haciéndolo de la misma manera. Sabemos que es un séptimo juego y es un premio para los dos equipos que han sido los más ganadores en el año, y la afición sin duda jugará un gran papel", comentó el manager melenudo, Roberto Vizcarra.
Walter Ibarra había adelantado a los selváticos 1-0 desde la segunda entrada, cuando ante el derrotado, Jorge Reyes, detonó doblete por todo el bosque central que envió a tierra prometida a Jesús Valdez con la carrera de la quiniela.
Los Sultanes respondieron de inmediato para hacer dos anotaciones gracias a imparable de Ramón Rios que les dio momentánea ventaja, puesto que en el cierre de ese inning las fieras rugieron con un zarpazo más para nivelar el score 2-2, tras profundo elevado de Luis Juárez que trajo a la registradora a Rubén Sosa en pisa y corre.
Fue en la quinta tanda que Yucatán hizo explotar el Kukulcán cuando se fue con todo hacia adelante para hacer las carreras que al final terminaron definiendo todo; Everth Cabrera remolcó la primera al disparar doblete y luego anotó la cuarta impulsado por sencillo del "Cacao" Valdez.
"Nos estamos fajando este año, desde que llegamos nos hemos enfocado en llegar aquí y la afición necesita el campeonato, por lo que trabajaremos para conseguirlo", apuntó Valdez al término del juego.
Los Leones van por un histórico campeonato
La épica batalla por la Copa Zaachila se irá al máximo, y este jueves a las 7:45 pm en el Parque Kukulcán Alamo los Leones buscarán conquistar su cuarto campeonato, estando pactado el duelo abridor entre Marco Tovar (0-0, 1.59) y Yoanner Negrin (0-1, 1.29); de obtener el triunfo, Yucatán sería el primer equipo en la historia de la LMB que se corone ganando sus cuatro juegos en casa.
