(SUGAR LAND, Texas) – Minor League Baseball (MiLB) announced Wednesday that former Sugar Land Space Cowboys outfielder Lewis Brinson was named the Pacific Coast League August Player of the Month.
Brinson appeared entire month of August with the Space Cowboys prior to being traded to the San Francisco Giants on Aug. 31.
The 28-year-old led the PCL with a .380 average and 1.158 OPS in August and was tied for fifth with seven home runs. Brinson helped spark the Space Cowboys to leading full-season MiLB teams with 205 runs last month.
The Houston Astros signed Brinson to a minor league contract in March. He spent parts of the last five seasons at the Major League level with the Milwaukee Brewers (2017) and Miami Marlins (2018-21).
