COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. - The Loons avoided a seventh straight loss with a 3-0 victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps on Saturday night before a crowd of over 9,000 at Fifth Third Ballpark.

The Loons' pitching tandem of Mathewson and Moseley scattered five hits throughout the game and did not allow multiple hits in an inning for West Michigan. There were no extra-base hits for either team in the game.
