BATS SET FOR 10-GAME HOMESTAND: The Louisville Bats open up a season-long, 10-game homestand Friday night against the Durham Bulls. The first four games of the season-long homestand will come against the IL South-leading Bulls, who swept the Bats on their previous road trip at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. This marks the longest homestand played at Louisville Slugger Field since a 10-game run from April 14-23, 2016 against Toledo (4/14-4/17), Columbus (4/18-4/20) and Indianapolis (4/21-4/23).
AGAINST DURHAM: Louisville and Durham meet for the second of three series this season and the first of two to be played at Louisville Slugger Field. The two clubs will meet 10+ times in the regular season for the first time since 2007, when the Bats went 4-8 against the Bulls. The clubs met 13 times during the 2010 season, 8 times in the regular season and 5 in the IL playoffs, with Durham taking two of three from Louisville in its last postseason appearance.
GOOSE EGG HATCHED: The Bats were shut out in their game yesterday against the Indianapolis Indians, 4-0. In their 43rd game of the season, it was the first time the Bats were involved in a shutout game all season. It was the latest the Bats had gone into a season without suffering a shutout loss since the 2000 season, when they were shut out for the first time on May 25, (18 years ago today also against Durham) by a 3-0 score in their 46th game of the season. The latest into a season that Louisville's captured its first shutout win was 1997, when they defeated Oklahoma City 7-0 in its 59th game of the season.
DISCO INFERNO: Right-hander
NO WALKS: There were no walks on either side in Thursday's 4-0 loss to Indianapolis, the first time that's happened in a Bats game this season. Prior to yesterday, the last time the Bats played in a walk-less game was August 9, 2016, with the Bats and Charlotte Knights failing to draw a walk in the 9 innings at BB&T Ballpark.
