Gavin Lux hadn’t circled the bases yet this season. On Tuesday night, he did it twice.

MLB Pipeline's No. 2 overall prospect belted a pair of homers on a three-hit night, driving in his first five runs of the season as the Dodgers held on to beat the D-backs, 10-9, in 10 innings.

Los Angeles' top prospect started his big night by going opposite field to left for his first long ball of the year off right-hander Luke Weaver in the second inning. The blast was Lux’s first since Sept. 13 against the Mets.

"It always feels good to see the ball go over the fence, but there were some really good at-bats before my last at-bat that gave me a shot to capitalize on any mistakes that happened," Lux told Spectrum SportsNet LA. "Hitting's contagious, like I always say."

After adding a single to center off D-backs lefty Joe Mantiply in the seventh and a walk in the eighth, Lux came through again in extra innings. The 22-year-old infielder hammered a three-run shot to right off Yoan López that capped a four-run 10th.

"I got fooled a little bit on the first one," Lux said after connecting on a second straight slider from the right-hander. "I wasn't necessarily looking for anything soft, just kind of looking for a heater and react to anything that was soft. That was kind of my approach and game plan on that."

Lux’s five RBIs were his most in a single game at any level since July 17, 2019 with Triple-A Oklahoma City at Iowa -- also his last two-homer performance.

Lux had two hits in his first 17 at-bats after joining Dodgers from the team's alternate training site. But he's 5-for-15 with four walks and six runs scored in his last four games to get his slash line up to .219/.324/.469.

"Me, Rob [manager Dave Roberts], Brownie [hitting coach Brant Brown) and Aaron [assistant hitting coach Aaron Bates] have had some really good conversations about just trusting myself, trusting my eyes and just going up there and hitting and having fun. And that's really been it," he said.

Lefty reliever Victor Gonzalez -- the Dodgers’ No. 21 prospect -- retired all four batters he faced, striking out two.

Third-ranked D-backs prospect Daulton Varsho belted his second homer of the year, a solo shot to left off righty Walker Buehler in the third. It was his only hit in four plate appearances.
