M-Braves drop game two versus Jacksonville

PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves (11-20, 45-56) fell 3-0 to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (16-16, 46-56) in game two Wednesday night at Trustmark Park. 

Jacksonville starter Trevor Richards went seven scoreless innings, stifling the M-Braves bats with six strikeouts despite giving up five hits, all singles. Mississippi was unable to get a runner to second until the seventh inning, and never really threatened to plate a run.
The M-Braves got good relief from the pen, as Danny Reynolds pitched two innings, giving up just one run on three hits. Corbin Clouse threw a hitless ninth, but did walk a batter, as the M-Braves staff combined for seven walks and one hit batter on the evening.
Offensively, all five singles were accrued by five different players, and only Dylan Moore reached base twice in the game via a single and walk. Jeff Kinley, José Quijada and Tyler Kinley combined for two hitless shutout innings to end the game and complete the shutout of Mississippi.
With the series tied at one game apiece, the M-Braves look for a big win Thursday night in game three at Trustmark Park against the leaders in the South Division.
