PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves (4-15, 38-51) fell behind early to the Jackson Generals (11-9, 48-42) in the final game of a four-game series and could not complete a late rally, dropping all four games in the series as the Generals claimed a 4-2 victory Wednesday night at Trustmark Park.
Mississippi sent Kolby Allard to the mound, and like much of this series, Allard had trouble getting ahead of batters early, which led to a lot of base runners for Jackson. The Generals scored first, using an error and three hits to go up 1-0 after just half an inning of play.

In the third, Jackson got their first homer of the series as Kevin Cron sent a solo-shot onto the grassy berm in left-center. The M-Braves got a run back in the home-half of the third, when Ronald Acuña Jr. scored on a Joey Meneses single to cut the lead in half.
Jackson scored another run in the fifth on a home run by Domingo Leyba and one more in the sixth to make it 4-1.
Allard took the loss, as he was touched for all four runs on 10 hits with just one walk and four strikeouts.
Mississippi could not get any momentum back, striking out eight times in the last three innings. The M-Braves got one run in the ninth to cut the Generals lead to 4-2, but left a runner on base to end the game.
In total, the M-Braves left seven men on base.
The next series is on the road at Pensacola, starting Thursday night at 6:35 PM.
