Maris homers in 8-3 loss to Jupiter
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (May 20, 2018) - Peter Maris delivered his third home run of the year Sunday, but the Jupiter Hammerheads defeated the Charlotte Stone Crabs 8-3 at Charlotte Sports Park.The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled in the second inning. Jupiter (27-15) got the scoring going right away against Stone Crabs (19-22) starter
Still down two in the bottom of the third, Charlotte center fielder
But the Hammerheads answered right back. Gutierrez started the fourth with a walk before Twine tripled him home to give Jupiter a 3-2 lead. After McWilliams retired the next two batters, Miller drove home Twine with a two-out single to make the score 4-2.
Jupiter added two more in the fifth on a Silviano home run to bring the tally to 6-2.
After Maris' opposite field home run made it 6-3, the Hammerheads plated two more on a wild pitch and sacrifice fly in the sixth to cap the scoring at 8-3.
McWilliams finished with four runs allowed on seven hits, striking out three over four innings.

Nate Lowe added a home run in the second game shortly before it was cancelled.
