Marlette, McCreery claim monthly honors

Marlette, 25, finished the month of May with a .350 batting average (28-for-80) in 24 games played. Marlette's 28 hits are a team best among all M-Braves hitters for the month of May. The M-Braves first baseman finished the month tied with former teammate,
McCreery, 25, ended the month of May with a 2-2 record and a 1.46 ERA. In eight relief appearances with the Mississippi Braves in the month of May, the left-hander allowed just nine hits, two runs, both earned, issued six walks and struck out 17 in 12.1 innings pitched. McCreery earned one save in one opportunity and was also credited with one hold for the month. A native of San Dimas, CA, McCreery was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 22nd round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Azusa Pacific University (Azusa, California). McCreery was acquired by the Atlanta Braves from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for RHP Jhoulys Chacin on May 11, 2016.
