Matt Foster Promoted to Chicago
The Chicago White Sox placed LHP Carlos Rodón on the 10-day IL (retroactive to 8/8) with left shoulder fatigue. Taking his place on Chicago's active roster will be RHP Matt Foster, who was recalled from the Charlotte Knights today.
The Chicago White Sox placed LHP Carlos Rodón on the 10-day IL (retroactive to 8/8) with left shoulder fatigue. Taking his place on Chicago's active roster will be RHP Matt Foster, who was recalled from the Charlotte Knights today.
In seven games with the Knights this season, Foster, 26, posted a 0-1 record with a 1.17 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched. With the White Sox this season, Foster is 2-1 with one save, 33 strikeouts and a 5.64 ERA in 28 games (30.1 IP).
This is Foster’s second promotion to Chicago this month and third overall this year. He was recalled on August 3 and optioned back to the Knights on August 6.
