The Tri-City Dust Devils (36-58) dropped their second straight road matchup against the Vancouver Canadians on Friday night 5-2 at Ron Tonkin Field. Griffin Mazur drove in both of Tri-City’s runs with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, the first of his professional career.
Sam Bachman, the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s MLB Draft, got a no-decision after tossing 2.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. The two teams were tied heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Vancouver was able to score three runs that allowed the Canadians to pull away.
Coming up in the fifth matchup of the road series on Saturday night the Dust Devils will send right-hander Glenn Albanese to the mound. Vancouver will counter with right-hander Adam Kloffenstein.
