The Kernels started the scoring in the second inning with the first of their three home runs.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Kernels pulled away with a five-run inning in which nine Kernels came to the plate. Davis capped the scoring with the first of his home runs, a two-run homer to right.
Davis slugged his second home run of the game, and third of the series, in the bottom of the sixth before Cedar Rapids would tack on two more runs in the eighth to end a night filled with offense for the Kernels.
The LumberKings had little to show for their time against Kernels starter
Clinton tallied just three hits in the game all against Watson who struck out nine over his time out while walking just one.
The loss is the LumberKings third straight and ends a stretch of three consecutive series wins.
The LumberKings will meet Cedar Rapids for finale of their three-game series on Friday night. Clinton will throw left-hander Ray Kerr (3-9, 4.29) while the Kernels will tap righty
