MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds continued a 12-game road trip and began a six-game series with a 4-1 win over the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A, Kansas City) on Tuesday night at Harbor Park in Norfolk.

Memphis grabbed the lead in the top of the first inning on right fielder Jordan Walker’s second home run of the season. Walker finished game one of the series 3-for-5 with the solo homer. In total, the Redbirds brought home all four runs via the long ball. Shortstop Thomas Saggese smacked a solo shot in the fourth inning and catcher Nick Raposo added insurance in the ninth with a two-run blast.

On the mound, the Memphis pitching staff picked up right where it left off from the series at Omaha. The group tallied 29 consecutive frames without a run allowed until the bottom of the ninth inning. Adam Kloffenstein (3-5) tossed 5.0 scoreless innings, allowed two hits, walked three and struck out six.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park to begin a six-game homestand against the Nashville Sounds on Tuesday, June 18 with first pitch scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CDT.
