- Yohander Mendez fired a seven-inning complete game shutout, earning his third win of the year. The southpaw allowed three hits and a walk, striking out five.
- Royce Bolinger blasted two home runs and drove in three runs. He went back-to-back with
Luke Tendler in the second, and clobbered a two-run shot in the sixth to make it 7-0. Isiah Kiner-Falefa blasted a three-run home run to right field in the fifth, giving the Riders a 5-0 advantage.

- Collin Wiles turned in his first quality start in his last four outings and his sixth of the year.
- In game one, Royce Bolinger and Luke Tendler hit the Riders' first back-to-back homers of the season. Bolinger's two-homer game was the third of his career.

The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The team was founded in 2003 and has finished first among all Double-A franchises in attendance in each of the last 12 seasons (2005-2016). In August 2014, the RoughRiders were purchased by an ownership group led by Chuck Greenberg.
