Mets hold off Cardinals for 2-1 victory

JUPITER, Fla. (August 27, 2017) - The St. Lucie Mets edged the Palm Beach Cardinals 2-1 on Sunday at Roger Dean Stadium. The Mets took two of three from the Cardinals in the series.
Mets starter
Crismatt scattered six hits, walked one and struck out three to take over the FSL lead in strikeouts (137). The first two batters of the sixth inning reached base, but Crismatt held the 2-1 lead by getting a double play and a ground out to third baseman
The Mets got on the board in the second inning when
Drake tied the game with a one-out solo shot in the third inning.
The Mets broke the tie for good in the fourth.
The Cardinals had another chance to tie the game in the eighth. The first two batters singled off of reliever Josh Torres. Torres recovered to get a fly out and a strikeout.
Bautista struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth to notch his third save.
Sergakis and
O'Reilly took the loss. He pitched seven innings and gave up both runs.
The Mets (59-72, 26-37) start a five-game home stand on Monday. First up is a meeting with the Fort Myers Miracle. Monday's first pitch at First Data Field is set for 6:30 p.m.
