El staff de pitcheo que presenta el manager Mark DeRosa, exutility de los Bravos de Atlanta, tiene una mayoría de lanzadores diestros y solamente dos zurdos (Kyle Freeland y Brooks Raley).
El gran líder del elenco de pitchers de la Unión Americana es Adam Wainwright de los Cardenales de San Luis. Es el único del grupo con más de 200 victorias en su carrera profesional (246) y 195 triunfos en Grandes Ligas; además de 22 temporadas jugadas como profesional (17 de ellas en MLB).
Los lanzadores con mejor efectividad en la Gran Carpa (ambos por debajo de 3.00) son David Bednar (2.98) y Devin Williams (2.03); el relevista con más salvamentos en MLB es el actual campeón con los Astros de Houston, Ryan Pressly (77 juegos salvados).
