Mudcats Announce 2024 Season Schedule

ZEBULON, N.C. – The Carolina Mudcats, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, today announced their 2024 regular-season schedule beginning on Friday, April 5 with the season opener in Salem against the Red Sox. The first home game of the 2024 season schedule is set for Tuesday, April 9 against the Down East Wood Ducks at Five County Stadium.

Key home dates include Memorial Day Weekend (May 24 – May 26 vs. Myrtle Beach), Father’s Day (June 16 vs. Fredericksburg) and Independence Day Weekend (July 4 – July 6 vs. Down East).

Official game times and a full schedule of promotions and theme nights will be announced at a later date.

In all, the 132-game 2024 schedule runs from April 5 through September 8 and features an even split of 66 home games and 66 road games across 12 homestands and 12 road trips. The new 2024 schedule is additionally weighted along division lines with 84 divisional games against Carolina League North opponents and 48 games versus Carolina League South opponents.

Carolina’s games against the South include the first-ever regular season games between the Mudcats and Charleston RiverDogs (June 1 through June 4 in Charleston; July 30 through August 4 in Zebulon). Additionally, the Mudcats will not face the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in 2024; marking the first such occurrence since the two teams joined the same league in 2021.

Overall, Carolina’s 2024 division slate includes 18 games (9 home, 9 away) versus the Down East Wood Ducks (Texas), 18 games (12 home, 6 away) versus the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore), 18 games (6 home, 12 away) versus the Fredericksburg Nationals (Washington), 15 games (6 home, 9 away) versus the Salem Red Sox and 15 games (9 home, 6 away) versus the Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland).

The non-division games include 12 (6 home, 6 away) versus the aforementioned RiverDogs (Tampa Bay), 12 games (6 home, 6 away) versus the Augusta GreenJackets (Atlanta), 12 games (6 home, 6 away) versus Columbia (Kansas City), six games (6 away) versus the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Houston) and six games (6 home) versus the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago-NL).

Like previous seasons, the 2024 schedule features a universal off-day occurring every Monday, excluding Monday, July 1 which will be later followed by consecutive off-days on Sunday, July 7 and Monday, July 8. The 2024 schedule once again includes a mid-season All-Star break with a four straight off-days coinciding with MLB All-Star festivities beginning on Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
