The Carolina Mudcats will black out the field with new alternate black game jerseys, and light up the night sky with post-game fireworks every Friday night this season.
The new “blackout” game jerseys are black in color with red numbers, “Carolina” scripted in red across the chest, and the Mudcats logo on the left sleeve. This new jersey marks the first for the Mudcats to feature "Carolina" on the jersey front.

These new game threads are coming to Five County Stadium every Friday night starting on April 22nd. The first 1,500 fans will receive a replica of this same jersey on Saturday, April 23rd.

The new blackout game jersey will make its debut on Friday, April 22 when the Mudcats take on the Lynchburg Hillcats at Five County Stadium. The Mudcats will also wear the new alternate black jersey on Saturday, April 23, coinciding with a replica souvenir giveaway of the same jersey for the first 1,500 fans in attendance at Five County Stadium.
The blackout replica jersey giveaway is the first of the previously announced Grand Slam Giveaway Plan slate of games and souvenir giveaway items. The remaining Grand Slam Giveaway dates, each for the first 1,500 fans, include the Carolina Micro Brews snapback mesh hat (for fans 21 and over) on May 21, the replica road jersey on June 11, the Pescados de Carolina replica jersey on July 16, and the short-sleeved red hoodie on August 20.
