Mudcats Total Three Triples in 5-3 Win with 6,478 On Hand at Five County Stadium

Dallas Carroll went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Carolina's 5-3 win

ZEBULON, NC - Dallas Carroll hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the fifth and Tucker Neuhaus, Ryan Aguilar and Devin Hairston each tripled as the Mudcats defeated the Frederick Keys 5-3 in front of a Fourth of July crowd of 6,478 at Five County Stadium on Wednesday night.

ZEBULON, NC - Dallas Carroll hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the fifth and Tucker Neuhaus, Ryan Aguilar and Devin Hairston each tripled as the Mudcats defeated the Frederick Keys 5-3 in front of a Fourth of July crowd of 6,478 at Five County Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Mudcats (8-5, 42-41) won their third straight game and totaled a season high three triples in the process. They also came back from an early 2-0 deficit after getting a run in the second and later taking the lead on Carroll's two-run home run in the fifth. 
Wilson Garcia homered twice for the Keys (38-45, 3-11) and accounted for all of their scoring as his he drove in all three runs. Garcia opened the scoring with a two-run home run off starter Victor Diaz in the first and later hit a game-tying solo home run in the sixth.
Diaz (4-5, 4.39) gave up both of Garcia's homers, but only allowed three runs overall while pitching through the sixth. He ended up scattering seven hits and struck out four while earning the victory.

Carroll's home run in the fifth gave Diaz and the Mudcats their first lead of the night as it brought the score to 3-2 midway through. Garcia followed with his second home run of the game in the sixth to tie it, but a run scoring triple from Aguilar put the Mudcats up once again 4-3. Hairston then followed with a bases loaded RBI groundout to extend the lead to 5-3 in the sixth.
Hairston went 2-for-3 with a run, a triple and a RBI in the game for Carolina. He was the only Mudcat with a multi-hit game, but all but two batters in the starting lineup had at least one hit in the home win. 
Neuhaus was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Aguilar also tripled and finished 1-for-3 with two RBI. He had the go-ahead RBI triple in the sixth and brought in Carolina's first run of the game in the second with a sacrifice fly to left.
Matthias Dietz started for the Keys and took the loss in his Carolina League debut after allowing five runs on seven hits over five innings pitched. He also walked three and struck out four. Relievers Zach Matson (2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 0 SO) and Mike Burke (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 SO) worked the final three innings for the Keys and held scoreless.
Conor Harber (H, 2) followed Diaz and ended up pitching through two and 2/3 scoreless innings before allowing two runners on and leaving with two outs in the ninth. Alec Kenilvort (S, 1) finished the game with a strikeout of Jake Ring to earn his first save of the season.
Carolina improved to 3-0 in the current home stand and their 12th win over their last 18 games. The home stand will continue on Thursday night with the first pitch at 7:00 p.m. Cam Roegner (7-4, 2.05) will start for the Mudcats as they look for their fourth straight win.
