Nastrini Promoted, Will Make MLB Debut Tonight

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- RHP Nick Nastrini had his contract selected by the Chicago White Sox today. Nastrini, 24, will make his Major League Debut tonight with the White Sox against the Kansas City Royals at 7:40 p.m. ET.
With the Knights this season, Nastrini is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in two starts (7.0 IP). He struck-out eight Jumbo Shrimp batters in four innings on April 9 at Jacksonville.
So far this season, Knights have now promoted seven players to Chicago. Those players (in order of their promotion) are: OF Robbie Grossman (4/5), INF Lenyn Sosa (4/6), LHP Jared Shuster (4/8), OF Oscar Colás (4/10), INF Zach Remillard (4/12), RHP Justin Anderson (4/12) and RHP Nick Nastrini (4/15). Last season, 25 players were promoted to Chicago from Charlotte.
Nastrini entered the 2024 season rated by Baseball America as the number three prospect in Chicago’s system. Last season, he combined to go 9-5 with a 4.08 ERA over 25 starts between Double-A Tulsa, Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte. Nastrini was acquired by the White Sox on July 28, 2023 in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He went 1-2 with a 4.12 ERA in four starts with the Knights last season (19.2 IP/23 SO).
