2021 National Anthem Auditions

After a year without baseball, the Bowie Baysox are excited to gear up for the 2021 season that is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 4 with the team's home opener scheduled for Tuesday, May 11 against the Reading Fightin Phils. [Full Schedule]

Traditionally, the Baysox host live National Anthem Auditions at Prince George's Stadium prior to the start of the season, however this year, due to Covid-19, the Baysox will be accepting video audition submissions through Friday, April 9, to perform the National Anthem before a 2021 Baysox home game.

The Baysox look forward to having a live performance of the National Anthem prior to every home game in 2021.

Anthem Audition Submission Rules:

• Auditions MUST be e-mailed as a single video file to [email protected] with the subject "Anthem Audition"
• When submitting your video, it must be one continuous video. No editing or video splicing will be accepted.
• When filming your video to submit, it MUST be filmed in HORIZONTAL (16:9) format. Videos sent in VERTICAL format will not be accepted.
• Video must be submitted in .mp4, or .mov format.
• Do NOT send links to any video sites (i.e. YouTube, Vimeo) or links to social media posts - they will not be accepted.
• The beginning of your video submission should state the name(s) of the performers in the video prior to the performance audition.
• The total time to perform the National Anthem in your video (and if you get selected to perform live) should not exceed 90 seconds.
• Auditions are open to vocalists, duets, trios, quartets and musicians/instrumentalists.
• When sending your e-mail, if the file is too large, please send via Wetransfer.com.
• When sending your audition, include the following information in the e-mail text: Person(s) name who is auditioning, daytime contact phone number, e-mail address, any dates during the 2021 season you are NOT able to perform, information regarding past National Anthem performances in a public venue/sports stadium.
• All video submissions become the property of the Bowie Baysox and can be used in promotional activities or for in-stadium use.

Following the final submission date of April 9, 2021, members of the Baysox staff will evaluate all submitted auditions. The Baysox will create a list of "approved performers" and notify those on that list of their potential of performing before a game this season. Not all "approved performers" may receive the opportunity to perform the National Anthem before a 2021 game.

The auditions are open to any individual or small group that is interested, and instrumentalists are permitted. Large church or school groups interested in performing the National Anthem at a game should call the Baysox Group Sales Department at (301) 464-4880.
