Aviators Sheldon Neuse named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for June 13 - 19

(Las Vegas, NV) – June 20, 2022 – The Las Vegas Aviators® professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, today announced that infielder Sheldon Neuse was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week (June 13-19).
Neuse is the second Las Vegas player this season to be named PCL Player of the Week. He joins infielder Matt Davidson who was named the week of May 30 – June 5.
Neuse appeared in six games against the Chihuahuas in El Paso, Texas and batted .483 (14-for-29) with two doubles, triple, two home runs and 12 RBI. The Aviators split the six-game series against El Paso (June 14-19).
He recorded four three-hit games in the series, including three consecutive: 3-for-6, two doubles, 5 RBI (June 16); 3-for-5, solo home run (June 17); 3-for-6, 2 RBI, two runs scored (June 18). He was also 3-for-5, HR, 2 RBI on June 14.
On the season, Neuse has appeared in 12 games for the Aviators and is batting .404 (21-for-52) with three doubles, triple, four home runs and 16 RBI. He hit safely in 11 straight games (June 7-18) and batted .429 (21-for-49), 4 HR, 15 RBI over that stretch. He also recorded six straight multiple-hit games (June 12-18) and batted .533 (16-for-30), 2 HR, 11 RBI over that stretch.
Neuse began the season with Oakland. He appeared in 49 games and was batting .228 (38-for-167) with three doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI. He was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on June 7.
The Aviators open a six-game homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, on Tuesday, June 21 at Las Vegas Ballpark. The series will run through Sunday, June 26 (all games at 7:05 p.m.). Las Vegas, 37-28 (.569), is in first place in the PCL/West Division.
