New Hampshire Bats Quieted by Rumble Ponies
Manchester, N.H. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (12-15) fell to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (New York Mets, 9-18), 2-1, in their return to Delta Dental Stadium on Tuesday. One run scored in the first six innings, and the Fisher Cats lost by one for the sixth time this season.

New Hampshire starter Hayden Juenger tossed his fifth scoreless outing of the season. The 21-year-old righty gave up two hits, walked three and struck out two. Juenger threw 58 pitches, the second-most he’s thrown in an appearance this season. He forced a line drive to Spencer Horwitz to leave the bases loaded for Binghamton in the second inning.
A Rumble Ponies homer in the top of the fourth broke the scoreless tie and put Binghamton in front, 1-0
The Fisher Cats bats were quiet through the first six innings. Rumble Ponies starter Jose Chacin tossed 4.2 scoreless frames, throwing a season-high nine strikeouts. New Hampshire left five runners on base across the fifth and sixth innings.
The Rumble Ponies plated another run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Francisco Alvarez. The catcher is ranked the No. 1 prospect in the Mets system and the No. 10 overall prospect according to MLB.com.
Once again, the Fisher Cats showed fight in the final inning but came up short. Luis De Los Santos doubled deep to left field, and Phil Clarke smacked a loud flyout to right field to move De Los Santos to third. Rafael Lantigua singled in the ninth to score the run and make the score 2-1, where it would stay.
The Fisher Cats continue their six-game series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (New York Mets) tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at Delta Dental Stadium.
