READING, P.A — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, defeated the Reading Fightin’ Phils on Sunday night 7-5 from FirstEnergy Stadium, completing their second road series win of the season.
New Hampshire hit a pair of two-run home runs in the victory and their 15th and 16th homers of the series after hitting only 17 in the first 26 games of the season.
Dylan Rock kicked off the scoring with a two-run homer to right-center field in the third for his second home run of the season and Zac Cook homered for a second straight game, a two-run homer to left-center in the sixth.
In his first Fisher Cats start of the year since transferring in from High-A Vancouver on Saturday, Karl Ellison recorded his first two RBIs of the season while Luis De Los Santos hammered an RBI double in the fourth for his first and only hit of the series.
On the mound, Andrew Bash earned his first win of the season after pitching 1.1 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts. Luis Quinones struck out four in two innings of relief and Troy Watson picked up a four-out save after coming in the eighth with the tying runs on base.
The Fisher Cats return home Tuesday, May 16 against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for a six-game series.
