The more Amed Rosario hits, the louder the cries for his promotion grow.
The Mets No. 1 prospect singled to extend his hitting streak to 16 games and helped seal the win with a three-run homer as Triple-A Las Vegas topped El Paso, 10-5, on Monday night at Cashman Field. The 51s scored six times in the seventh and eighth innings en route to their second consecutive win.

MLB.com's No. 3 overall prospect reached on a throwing error by El Paso third baseman Christian Villanueva during a four-run first. He moved to third on second-ranked Dominic Smith's single and scampered home on a wild pitch. Rosario grounded out to third in the second and drew a leadoff walk in the fifth. Chihuahuas catcher Tony Cruz caught the Dominican Republic native attempting to steal second for the final out of the inning.
With the 51s trailing in the seventh, 5-4, Rosario kept a rally going while extending his hitting streak with a one-out single to right field and scored the go-ahead run on Kevin Plawecki's third single of the game. One-out singles in the eighth by Victor Cruzado and Mets No. 7 prospect Brandon Nimmo -- his second hit of the game -- set the stage for Rosario's fifth home run, a three-run poke to right-center.
Gameday box score

His 73 hits stand second to Reno's Ketel Marte (82) and his 10 stolen bases are eighth-most in the circuit.
Smith drove in two runs while Plawecki chipped in three RBIs in his first game back with Las Vegas.

Kevin McGowan (4-2), Kyle Regnault and Chasen Bradford combined to allow two hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Jose Pirela went 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs while falling a double shy of the cycle for El Paso. He homered for the second straight game and the eighth time in his last 11 games overall. Padres No. 9 prospectCarlos Asuaje delivered an RBI single and finished 2-for-4 with a walk.
