Humphreys (7-1) held the Yankees affiliate to four hits and a walk over seven innings, lowering his ERA to 1.57. He threw 68 of his 99 pitches for strikes and induced three ground outs. The win made him one of only five pitchers in professional baseball with seven victories, joining Major Leaguers Clayton Kershaw, Dallas Keuchel and Ervin Santana as well as Springfield's

The 20-year-old has allowed two earned runs or fewer in all eight of his starts this season, earning victories in the first seven outings before taking a tough-luck loss in his last appearance May 15. His 10 strikeouts Wednesday were two shy of his season high of 12, which he set April 24 in 6 2/3 innings against Asheville.
Humphreys, the Mets' 18th-round pick in 2015, has been a picture of consistency this season, allowing four hits or fewer in seven of his eight starts. He's worked at least six innings in all but one of his outings and has issued just seven walks in 52 2/3 frames.
The Fireflies took the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs and tacked on one more in the fifth.
