On the same day Blake Rutherford was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team, he was placed on the seven-day disabled list due to a right foot contusion.
MLB.com's No. 32 prospect last played on Sunday, when he walked and scored on a single by Donny Sands in the first inning for Class A Charleston before Estevan Florial pinch-hit for him to lead off the third.

New York's first-round pick in 2016 got off to a solid start in his full-season debut this year, batting .280/.355/.394 with one home run, 25 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 47 games. He posted a .351/.415/.570 line with three long balls over 33 games for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Yankees West and Rookie-level Pulaski.

The Yankees drafted Rutherford, who many considered the top prep hitter in last year's class coming into the season, with the 18th overall pick. The 19-year-old dropped in the Draft amidst age and signability concerns, neither of which worried New York, which signed the UCLA commit for $3.28 million -- a franchise record for a hitter.
Rutherford projects as an above-average hitter for both average and power and has few holes in his game for a 19-year-old outfielder, although many believe he'll be pushed from center field to left or right once he fills out his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame.
