Long before Clint Frazier became one of the poster boys for the Yankees revitalized farm system, he filled a similar role in the Indians organization.
Seeing some familiar faces the past few days drew out a new version of him.
"We spent the last few games in Columbus, so I got a chance to see some guys that I played with before I was traded," he said. "I think that's where it started, whenever I started feeling better in the box. I guess just being around people that I hadn't seen in a while sparked a different side of me at the plate."
After hitting a home run in his first two games against his former team, the Yankees' second-ranked prospect went deep again on Friday as part of a 2-for-3 night that powered Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to a 4-2 win over Toledo at Fifth Third Field.

In his first at-bat against Mud Hens starter William Cuevas, Frazier got the fastball he was looking for and smashed it off the left-field videoboard to put the RailRiders ahead, 1-0.
"The pitch before, I fouled it off my foot, so I figured he was going to come right back with the same pitch," Frazier said of his team-leading ninth homer. "He did and I was fortunate to put that one in play."

The 22-year-old outfielder added a double to right in the fourth and drew a four-pitch walk in the sixth with the game tied, 2-2, and two on.
"I think for me, when you start feeling good is when you can really trick yourself into feeling too good and be a little aggressive," he said. "Tonight, I was just trying to stay composed and just put the barrel on the ball and just swing at the strikes."
The 2013 first-round pick struck out in his final at-bat in the eighth but raised his batting average in May to .294 after hitting .224 in the season's opening month.
"It's just been the confidence level," Frazier said. "I think once I kind of changed that a little bit with a few good games in a row, it helped to be able to turn the page and be a little quicker whenever you're swinging better. Overall, it's just about continuing to stick with my approach and keep doing what's working and stick with the pregame routine."
Joining Frazier with a multi-hit game was Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres, who went 2-for-3 and notched his first Triple-A RBI with a single to left in the seventh. The 20-year-old infielder is 3-for-9 since getting promoted from Double-A Trenton on Sunday.

"I think with his skill level, it's overlooked how good of a person he is, too," Frazier said. "For him to go on the field and play well, being the youngest one on the team, it's awesome to watch.

"I think we all knew [during Spring Training] in the back of our heads that at some point we are going to be on the same playing field as Gleyber, whether [it's] Triple-A or the big league level sometime later in the year. I think he got here a little faster than people had anticipated, but he's earned his promotion and that's just a tribute to how good he is as a player."
Seventh-ranked Yankees prospect Chance Adams picked up the win in his third Triple-A start, going five innings and allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Tyler Webb and Ben Heller combined for three scoreless frames before Ernesto Frieri notched his fifth save.
"I think with the arrival of both [Torres and Adams], it just added on to what our team had previously been doing before they got here," Frazier said. "Whenever you add two players who can change the game, whether it be on the mound, in the batter's box or in the field, it's just good for everyone. They are both terrific guys so it's just exciting to have both of them."
