As he edges closer and closer to the Majors, Chance Adams is getting better and better.
The Yankees' No. 7 prospect kept his ERA below one, allowing two hits over a season-high six innings and Gleyber Torres collected three hits and two RBIs as Trenton blanked visiting Harrisburg, 7-0, on Monday night.
After remaining hitless in his first game off the disabled list with right rotator cuff tendinitis, the Yankees' top prospect has gone 8-for-12 with two doubles, his first Double-A homer and six RBIs. His third consecutive multi-hit game bumped his average up to .321.

"Nothing is overwhelming for him. It's amazing how he handles everything with such ease," Trenton manager Bobby Mitchell told MiLB.com on Saturday. "Managing him is awesome, because he's such a great kid. ... He really knows the game so well and his instincts are just off the charts. He's impressive in so many ways. Yes, he's got some things he needs to improve upon, but he has some major skills, obviously."
Adams agreed with his skipper's assessment of the young shortstop.
"It's great to have him. He's a real special player," he said. "We have so much confidence in him at the plate and in the field. If we need a base knock or an RBI or just doing something to get us going, we know he can come through. He's a great player."
Ranked second overall by MLB.com, Torres singled to right field in his first at-bat and to left in his second. He lined a two-RBI double to left during Trenton's seven-run fourth inning. The knock gave the 20-year-old eight hits in his last 10 at-bats. He flied out and grounded out in his final two plate appearances.

"He struggled a little bit right before he was disabled, but he got locked in during batting practice [Saturday]," Mitchell said. "His BP had a purpose and it carried over into the game. If he stays focused, which I have no doubt he will, the sky is really the limit for him."
Adams (4-0) was the beneficiary of Torres' hot bat. The 22-year-old righty surrendered two hits and three walks while striking out five in his third scoreless outing in five starts. Adams has allowed 15 hits and 13 walks with 27 strikeouts in 28 innings for a 0.64 ERA.
"I'm just out there pitching my game," the Arizona native said. "I'm trying to throw strikes, nothing too fancy. I try not to put too much thought into it. I do what works for me, executing my pitches as well as I can. I've been concentrating on throwing the change up more, and of course, working on my fastball command."

Adams posted a 2.07 ERA and won eight of nine decisions in 13 appearances (12 starts) with Trenton last year.
"It's just a new year. Nothing really different other than that," he said. "There's a lot of the same guys out there, but also new faces that I''m going up against. I think there were only one or two of the same players [on Harrisburg] who I faced last year.
"The biggest thing for me is to keep working hard between outings while maintaining the same routine. Slacking off can lead to struggling. I try and maintain what I do best, pitch with confidence and hit my spots."

Zack Zehner chipped in two hits and two RBIs for Trenton, which closed out its second straight shutout with scoreless single frames by Nestor Cortes, J.P. Feyereisen and Caleb Frare.
Nationals second-ranked prospectErick Fedde (0-2) was tagged with six runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
