Nunez 3-run triple sends Grizzlies to Game 1 victory at Salt Lake

In Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader at Salt Lake (rained out on Wednesday), the Grizzlies (18-9) sprang out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Tony Kemp led the game with a walk, and moved to third on a base hit by Alejandro Garcia (2-for-4). Kemp scored a batter later on a Kyle Tucker fielder's choice.
Salt Lake (16-11) cut the Fresno lead in half in the second, on an Eric Young, Jr. (2-for-3) RBI double. The Bees led in the fourth after a two-out, two-run double from Juan Graterol into the left field gap.
Kemp almost single-handedly tied the game in the visitor half of the fifth; extending his hit streak to nine games with a one-out bunt single up the first base line. He stole second, his 10th swipe of the season without being caught. After advancing to third base on an error, Kemp scored on a Garcia RBI groundout for a 3-3 score.
The game was untied in the sixth, when Antonio Nunez tripled to right field with the bases loaded and two out, scoring three for a 6-3 advantage.  
Fresno starter Rogelio Armenteros (1-0) fired five innings to pick up the win (5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K). The Grizzlies improved to 5-0 this season when Armenteros pitches, and 14-1 all-time (9-1 in 2017). Salt Lake's Joel Pineyro (0-2) took the loss in a 5.2 IP effort (4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K).
In the sixth, the Bees added a solo homer from Jose Fernandez, his third of the year to tighten things up at 6-4. The Grizzlies loaded the bases however in the top half of the seventh, with Davis adding his second RBI of the day on a sac fly. Leading 7-4, Kaleb Cowart chipped in an RBI double, but it wasn't enough to deny Brendan McCurry his fifth save in a 7-5 final.
