O'Reilly Named MWL Pitcher of Week
PEORIA, IL - The Midwest League announced Monday that Peoria Chiefs pitcher Mike O'Reilly was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 5-11. This marks the first individual award for a Chiefs pitcher in the 2017 season.

O'Reilly, 22, is 4-1 with a 1.69 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP in nine games and six starts. He has struck out 42 and walked just four over 48 innings while holding opponents to a .183 average. Among MWL starters with at least 48 innings he is first in WHIP, third in average against and fifth in ERA. O'Reilly has the two longest Chiefs outings of the season and is tied for the most single-game strikeouts as he whiffed 10 over 8 1/3 innings in a one-hitter on May 20. A native of Wading River, NY he was drafted in the 27th round of the 2016 draft out of Flagler College.
O'Reilly is the first Chiefs player to win a league award in 2017 and is one of five Chiefs named to the MWL All-Star Game which will be played Tuesday, June 20 in Midland, Michigan. Last season the Chiefs collected three Pitcher of the Week Awards with
