The loss marks the first time Somerset has been shut out this season. The Patriots went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position for a second straight day and left 11 on base, a day after leaving 14 on base. They also grounded into three double plays.
The three straight losses to begin the series signal Somerset’s second three-game losing streak of the season, as its first also came in the first three games of their only other road trip in New Hampshire April 12-14.
