Bowie, M.D. (April 15, 2024) - The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have announced that Orioles’ right-handed starting pitcher Kyle Bradish is expected to make a rehab start on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:05 pm against the Altoona Curve at Prince George’s Stadium.
Bradish has been on the injured list since the beginning of the season after suffering a right UCL sprain in January.
The 27-year-old finished fourth in the American League Cy Young Award voting last year after recording the third-lowest ERA (2.83) in the AL in just his second major league season. The former Baysox arm posted a record of 12-7, threw 168.2 innings and struck out 168 batters. He led the O’s pitching staff in ERA, strikeouts, opponent average, WHIP, and quality starts.
The All-MLB Second Team selection was the first qualified Orioles pitcher with a sub-3.00 ERA since Mike Mussina posted a 2.54 ERA in 1992. Bradish’s 168 strikeouts were also the most by an O’s pitcher since Dylan Bundy’s 184 strikeouts in 2018.
The last time Bradish made a rehab appearance with the Baysox was April 14, 2023, against the Akron RubberDucks. The right-hander threw five innings, gave up four runs on three hits and one walk and struck out five batters, receiving the loss.
The Baysox open a six-game homestand against the Altoona Curve, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:05 pm.
