Outman received the honor after a strong series in Springfield against the Cardinals that ran from August 2-8. In six games last week, he hits .444 (12-27) with 7 extra-base hits, including 3 home runs. He also scored 9 runs and drove in 4.
He has hit safely in eight consecutive games, going 15-39 (.385) during the streak.
Outman has also reached base safely in all 15 games he has played with the Drillers, and overall has reached base in 18 straight games, dating back to the final three games he played in Class-A with Great Lakes.
Northwest Arkansas pitcher Austin Cox was named the Double-A Central Pitcher of the Week.
