Last week, over 140 days before they take the field for the first time under their new moniker, the Missoula PaddleHeads embarked on their first competition since the November rebrand for the title of "Best New Look" in Minor League Baseball. In the culmination of the week-long, national fan vote, the fans have spoken, and the Missoula PaddleHeads have the best new look in the country!
"Rebrand of the Year. Wow! We are honored to be awarded this distinction, especially, with the quality of the competition and with our market being the smallest of those in the running," said PaddleHeads Vice President Matt Ellis. "Inspiration fuels great things. We thank our fans, community, state, and players for your inspiration to help us create a brand and a series of logos that represent Missoula's lifestyle, celebrates our natural surroundings, and conveys our community's heart and soul. This national honor validates the hard work put in by all that helped us create this successful brand. I feel the rest of the country has a better understanding of our great community as a result."
The contest hosted by Minor League Baseball asked fans to vote for their favorite new logos across the country. Missoula's competition was formed of nine spectacular new identities: Danville Braves, Fort Myers Might Mussels, Fredericksburg Nationals, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, Norwich Sea Unicorns, Wichita Wind Surge, Winston-Salem Dash, and the Worcester WooSox.
"The PaddleHeads brand represents much more than a baseball team," said Brandiose Partner Jason Klein, part of the creative team behind development of the new marks. "It's a celebration of all things Missoula, and opening up this hometown story to the world. The fans have voted, and they love Missoula and the PaddleHeads as much as we all do."
"Last week, we said that, 'we'd like to show that the little guy in the room has a ton of fight,' and today Missoula, Montana, and the support nationwide backed that up," said PaddleHeads Director of Marketing Taylor Rush. "This honor is nationally significant, and our entire team feels on top of the world today! Thank you to each and every fan, from near and far who voted for us."
