Fernando Tatis Jr.'s rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso could not be going any better for the two-time Major League Silver Slugger.
Already hitting .478 this season as he entered Saturday night's game against Triple-A Albuquerque, the Padres' 2021 All-Star couldn't be stopped yet again. Tatis wasted no time to make his mark on his seventh game of the year, clubbing a home run to left field in his first at-bat. Then, he stepped up to the plate in the second inning for his second time up, and blasted another homer 435 feet to the opposite field.

It brings Tatis up to six home runs on the year. It was his second straight multi-homer game, as he hit three in his last time on the diamond which included an eight RBI showing.
That wasn't it, though. Tatis followed up his two homers by adding a pair of singles. The last at-bat drove in a third RBI from Tatis.
Tatis is slated to play for the Padres again next Thursday (April 20), and there are certainly no questions over whether he's ready or not. Tatis has hit .536 for the Chihuahuas, posting a .618 on-base percentage. He's up to 14 RBIs in seven games, with 10 runs in span.
He most certainly looks like the player he was the last time he played at the big league level, where he not only was an All-Star and Silver Slugger selection, but also a top three National League Most Valuable Player candidate.
