West Virginia (32-30, 69-59) iced the game in the eighth.
Cubilete (5-5) spun in and out of trouble a few times early in the game, but managed to toss six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and fanning five batters.
The bullpen needed just one arm to complete the game.
The Power started slow, but, after Calvin Mitchell recorded their first hit in the bottom of the fourth with two away on a bloop single to right,
Tim Cate (0-3) was tagged for the loss, despite working a quality start for the Suns (24-36, 51-77).
Mitchell was involved again in the sixth, tagging Frankie Bartow with a run after he stroked an RBI double that scored Castro.
West Virginia concludes its four-game set against the Hagerstown Suns Thursday evening at 7:05 p.m. at Appalachian Power Park. RHP
